• It asks for unusual permissions — accessibility control, device admin or reading all SMS.
• It pushes urgency — “only 10 slots left”, “offer ends in 5 minutes”.

Already installed one?

Act quickly and in this order:

1. Uninstall it — and remove any device admin or accessibility permission you granted it first, if Android asks.
2. Change your password — from the official app or website, using the steps on the login & register page.
3. Check your money apps — look through UPI and bank history for anything you do not recognise, and change those PINs if you typed them anywhere suspicious.
4. Tell customer care — email customer care with what you installed and when.
5. Report fraud — if money was taken, report it on the government's National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or call the 1930 helpline as soon as possible.
